Au Naturale Meets the Tanning World… Skip those expensive and artificial tanning oils and opt to create your own!

This summer we’re all about healthy, better looking skin. For those of us that consider ourselves sun children, we have found a solution to our hydration struggles. If you carefully read the label on your precious tanning oil, you’ll find that it is full of preservatives! Uh oh is right. BHT and parabens are commonly found in those mainstream oils- and can lead to health issues. We might not want to put too much thought into it but you must question the oils that are so fragrant. That sweet tropical scent that you get from certain oils…it might be your favorite but- how can natural ingredients be that potent? Natural ingredients should produce natural odors. Needless to say, we’ll try our best to provide you with a mixed oil and mineral recipe that you enjoy and that is all natural! And don’t fret, you can make your oil with SPF (we’re not expecting you to get out there and roast to a crisp- after all we care about your skin)

Some of these oils include but are not limited to:

We thought that we would share one of our favorite and fragrant oil mixtures with you! Our staff loves anything to do with coconuts so our oil potion follows in suit due to popular demand. We like to call this our Tropical Escape Tanning Oil. The ingredients are as follows:

+ one fourth cup of unrefined virgin coconut oil

+ two teaspoons walnut oil

+ two teaspoons avocado oil

+ two teaspoons sesame oil

+ 5-10 drops coconut essential oil

+ 5-10 drops vanilla essential oil

Directions: First bring the unrefined coconut oil to liquid form, then add the veggie and seed oils, and finally the essential oils which are measured based off of personal preferences of smell. Mix them all until they appear to be well combined. For storage, it is said that the oil mixtures last longest when in an dark, airtight container.
