St. Patty’s Day

 

 


Surely you’re getting ready to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a traditional, Irish inspired meal, with foods like corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie and Irish soda bread. We are too! Here at Clio we couldn’t be more excited about St. Patty’s Day falling on a Friday this year. Keep the fun going all weekend long with these festive food and drink recipes 🙂

DRINKS

For anyone who is of age this Irish Fishbowl is a great treat!

  • Green Apples(You’ll need a 4 leaf clover cookie cutter for these if you’re looking for the full effect)
  • Melon Balls
  • 6 oz (180 ml) Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • 4 oz (120 ml) Apple Juice
  • 4 oz (120 ml) Sour Apple Pucker
  • 4 oz (120 ml) Midori Melon Liqueur
  • 2 Green Apple Sodas
  • 1 ½ oz (45 ml) Blue Curacao
  • Top with Apple Juice

 

Don’t worry if you’re too young to enjoy that treat because we have one that’s equally as fun for you!

Lime Sherbet Floats

The best part of this recipe is how simple it is! You only need 2 ingredients:

  • Lime Sherbet
  • Lemon Lime Soda

In a clear glass add 2-3 scoops of lime sherbet and then slowly (so the glass doesn’t overflow as it foams up) pour lemon-lime soda over the top. Serve immediately with straw and spoons, if you wish 🙂

 

DESERTS

Brownie Trifle

  • 1 package brownie mix
  • 1 box vanilla instant pudding
  • 8 oz cool whip
  • Green food coloring
  • Mint Oreo’s crushed
  1. Cook the brownies according to directions and then allow them to cool completely
  2. Make the pudding according to directions and add a few drops of food coloring when finished until the pudding has reached the desired shade of green
  3. Take a Ziploc bag and place a few Oreo’s inside. Seal the bag and smash it to crush the Oreo’s
  4. To assemble the trifle; layer cut up brownie, a layer of pudding, a layer of cool whip, another layer of cut up brownie, a layer of pudding, and a few crushed Oreo’s on top
  5. Chill in refrigerator until ready to serve!

Popcorn

  • 10 cups popped popcorn
  • Salt
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows
  • Regular M&Ms – green
  • Pretzel M&Ms – green
  • M&M minis – green
  • Lucky charms shamrock marshmallows
  • Mini shamrock sprinkles

 

  1. Pop the popcorn (don’t forget to take out any unpopped kernels)
  2. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a medium saucepan
  3. Once the butter is melted, add 3 cups of mini marshmallows
  4. Stir until the marshmallows are melted and immediately turn off the heat
  5. Slowly pour the mixture over the salted popcorn and fold it into the popcorn until it is mostly covered (Keep a little for the next step)
  6. Pour the popcorn onto a cookie sheet and drizzle a bit of the remaining marshmallow mixture over the popcorn, but do not mix it up
  7. Add the candy concentrating on areas with the most drizzled marshmallow mixture
  8. Allow the popcorn to cool, break into pieces and serve!
