Before you delve head first into all of the madness that comes with the holiday season, it’s important to take a moment for gratitude. Whether that be your gratitude for your health, for your opportunities, or for the people in your life, take the time to acknowledge those aspects and express it.
Practicing gratitude daily has been regarded as something that keeps individuals present. These days, we focus so much on the to-do lists, on the instantaneous moments, and the future. Rarely do people take the time to take a step back, and practice gratitude. There are so many simple ways one can practice gratitude daily. Personally, I keep a journal where I write a list of things I am grateful for. Peers of mine keep a group chat, where anyone is free to write what they are grateful for on that given day. Whatever method you choose, you’d be surprised how practicing gratitude can increase your overall well-being.
